There's something almost hard to reconcile when you first come across the fusion of Ronnie Aminov and Cynthia Catera's 2 lifestyle accessory brands: FancySexyMe and Metalacracy. The names suggest some self-obsessed egoist meets punk-rock fiend, but this creative duo is anything but. They're straight-up creative geniuses, working hard on a mission to share their style and taste with the masses.
A&F: Tell us about the connection between your and Cynthia's work.
Ronen: Cynthia and I share a vision of bringing "Innovative design & Luxury with an Attitude" to the world of jewelry and wearable art. We come from very different backgrounds and styles but connect on an awesome creative frequency we call FancySexyMe.
A&F: Where did the name come from? 
Ronen: I was looking for something memorable, and at the time was really into the music of a band that based its songs on the movie Closer. One of their lyrics are "…fancy sexy me…" and that hit me as a really cool name for the company.
A&F: So tell us more about your creations.
Ronen:We focus on innovative designs and wearability. We create pieces from silver, brass and gold that are totally new and creative yet comfortable and easy to integrate into your existing style. The idea is to take designs that are popular and turn them into something no one has ever seen before. I take my inspiration from the abstract of everyday life, and Cynthia pulls more from what's popular and trendy in the fashion world. Together we are creating our own unique style.
A&F:How did you get into jewelry design?
Ronen:My background is high-end fine jewelry. I got my degree in jewelry design from FIT and worked for 8 years for a company that provides diamonds for Tiffany and other high-end companies. About a year ago I started getting into wearable art. Its satisfies my creative and expressive side in a way that fine jewelry can't.
Cynthia come from the world of fashion. She is a successful clothing designer who also loves creating beautiful jewelry.
