There's no better feeling than making an object with your own two hands. Artist and jewelry designer Afshaan Rahman will introduce and teach the traditional basketry technique of coiling. She'll use rope and twine to show students how to create a simple bowl. Each participant will leave with a small bowl and skills to create pieces on their own.

You can just have a samosa-making Indian girl teach you. Mini Dhingra of Samosa Shack will show you how to make these perfect pockets of yumminess, along with two fillings--sweet potato spinach and the ever popular potato pea. She’ll also share how to use Indian spices in your cooking at home. You''ll go home with a couple of samosas, provided you haven't already eaten them.

For those interested in trying their hand at making jewelry but don’t know where to start, Georgia Varidakis will lead students through the first steps and essential (inexpensive) tools you'll need to do so. You'll learn how to solder using a micro-torch and each student will leave with a finished pair of earrings.  Local sources for casting, supplies and tools will also be covered.

Graffiti and sticker enthusiasts, gather around. Bring your hand-styles and tags to life with the GRAFFNAMES platform. Each individual will create a phrase and transform their design into a sticker. Bring your iPad or tablet and a cool 1-2 word phrase you want to use. Typography skills not required. Instructor Jesse Ward will help guide and design your stickers with graffiti hand-styles.
