The Market & Our Seasonal Markets
Established in 2003, Artists & Fleas Artist, Designer & Vintage Market is a weekly Williamsburg Brooklyn indoor market where emerging and independent artists, designers, vintage collectors and DIYers can showcase their wares, set up shop and meet their market. It’s a unique destination where consumers can interact and buy directly from the source.
Located in a large early 1930s manufacturing warehouse in the heart of Williamsburg’s North Side on North 7th Street between Wythe & Kent Avenues with views of the Manhattan skyline and the Williamsburg waterfront, Artists & Fleas is a vital, vibrant and dynamic environment for the community of local artists, designers, collectors and next-generation business owners to get into retail.
Since first opening our doors, we have had over a dozen members of our community go on to open stores of their own in Williamsburg including Mast Brothers Chocolate, Malin Landaeus Vintage, Brooklyn Charm and several others.
Like markets and marketplaces all around the world, Artists & Fleas is different things to different people. It’s a pop-up shop, a rotating store-front, a place to stimulate the trend-spotting itch. It’s a place where resources, ideas and merchandise are constantly changing hands. It’s a place where discovery happens each and every weekend.
On March 1st, 2012, Artists & Fleas returns to Chelsea Market in Manhattan for a Spring season residence through the end of May.
Artists & Fleas at Chelsea Market promises to be a brand new experience in alternative retail – a curated marketplace of designers, artists and vintage dealers. Part designer showcase, part maker’s market, this pop-up will host over 30 independent creators and sellers of jewelry, art, design, home accessories, vintage clothing, and all things indie, funky, Brooklyn and bespoke from both Artists & Fleas’ 9 years in Williamsburg, Brooklyn and the larger creative community. In addition, the market will play host to an eclectic mix of weekly programming led by independent designers and artists open to the public.

Artists & Fleas @ OSA Presents: At The Williamsburg Waterfront is an exciting collaboration with North Brooklyn’s NY Parks Department organization the Open Space Alliance of North Brooklyn (OSA) and OSA Presents. Now in its second season along the Williamsburg Waterfront, the concert series has a memorable past originating in the early 2000s at McCarren Pool where it was known as the Pool Parties and played host to many headlining bands. The current series will return to the East River State Park along the Williamsburg waterfront and will have programming to include a wide range of musical acts and entertainment including several free shows throughout the season.
Artists & Fleas’ participation in the 2011 concert series is an opportunity to showcase several local emerging and newly-established artists, designers and crafters. Every show will have a rotating presentation of 5 Brooklyn-based artists and artisans to give concert-goers a unique opportunity to participate in the independent Williamsburg experience and take it back home with them.

The Pool Parties began in 2005 in the currently-under-renovation McCarren Park Pool in Williamsburg Brooklyn as a concert and performance series of concerts to benefit the Parks under the auspices of the Open Space Alliance (OSA). Local promoter JellyNYC kicked it up a notch in the subsequent years with a cutting-edge line-up of indie bands and performers. The shows moved in 2009 to the East River State Park along Kent Avenue where Jelly re-launched The Pool Parties as a mini-series of free shows to celebrate all things wonderful about the neighborhood.
Encouraged by the popularity of the shows and the awesomeness of the Williamsburg waterfront as a venue, OSA and its sibling organization OSA Presents created the Williamsburg Waterfront concert series with a roster of local and global superstars including performances in 2010 by Faith No More, Modest Mouse, Grizzly Bear and others.
Artists & Fleas is proud to participate in the concert series and present a showcase of independent artists & designers. Alongside the amazing array of local food and drink vendors from Roberta’s, El Diablo Tacos, Brooklyn Brewery and more, we are proud to present some of the creative talent that resides in our neighborhood.
Stop by, say hi and join us at the shows.
