Jessica Lawson of Dea Dia started making jewelry as a creative outlet aside from her day jobs. After overwhelming success at the Brooklyn Night Bazaar during holiday season last year, she decided to quit her job and focus on making jewelry full time. Her inspiration comes from the natural world such as the geometry of the earth, moon, and stars. She also loves art deco architecture and caves. You can see this coming through in her jewelry, as her designs include a lot of raw gemstones and organic shapes. The most stunning piece, a bib necklace created using 15 brass crescent moons, is surely a statement and carries a lot of symbolism. Not for the faint of heart!
Jessica is hard at work to grow her business and has already been picked up by stores up and down the West Coast. She’ll be at A&F this April weekend, so be sure to stop by and check out her mind-blowing line in the flesh.
