I started collecting vintage at a very early age. I have always been inspired by the styles of earlier decades. I would spend hours hunting and searching for special vintage pieces from my favorite eras. Music was also a heavy influence in my life growing up so I would look for pieces that came from the eras of the musicians I listened to. I would always try to incorporate vintage into every outfit. The quality and originality of vintage is incredibly special. It wasn’t until much later after going to design school in Paris and working for the family business that I decided to share my personal collection. I decided to make a business out of something that I loved doing. So in March 2009, my sister and I started We Move Vintage in the back of my parents' design and manufacturing warehouse. We started out with a website selling items mostly from my collection and then began traveling around to source new pieces. Shortly after that we started participating in flea markets around Los Angeles.
I originally heard about Artists & Fleas from an online publication. I loved reading about the creators' vision and how they brought together a marketplace with quality handmade and selective vintage vendors. When I heard that they were starting a show in LA, I knew I wanted to be a part of it. The first market in LA was a very exciting and successful show for me. I had an opportunity to reach new customers and meet other passionate vendors. These connections have definitely helped me grow and expand my business.
Artists and Fleas LA is a unique market because of the sense of community between vendors and customers. I feel so fortunate to have met so many people that love what they are doing. It constantly inspires and motivates me.
