Meet NYC Vintage Queen and Mother-of-Two Amy Abrams
...it’s no wonder we wanted to get a glimpse at the colorful, often whimsical life of Amy Abrams, Co-Founder of the dynamic daily marketplace, Artists & Fleas. Below, the Brooklyn local and mama to two stunning girls (Ruby, 11, and Noa, 9), invites us into her world to talk the culturally-rich landscape of Crown Heights, raising her daughters with compassion, and all things entrepreneurship. She even gives us a couple of pro tips for treasure hunting and scoring vintage gold.
We Talked to the Founder of Artists & Fleas About Building a Vintage Empire
There's no question vintage is having a moment. There are the crowds of city-dwelling women fighting over limited pairs of vintage Levi's 501s. Or the fact that flea markets have become a weekend destination for 30-somethings more than their retiree parents. And then there's Artists & Fleas, which stands firmly at the pinnacle of the movement.

9 to 5: The Founder of Artists and Fleas on How to Mix Vintage With Designer—And Why She Doesn’t Have a Uniform
Amy Abrams likes to call herself a treasure hunter. She and her husband spent years traveling the world in search of beautiful clothes, and in 2003 they decided to turn their passion into a real project. As she explains, “We love the thrill of discovery and wanted to create an amazing shopping experience that touched upon all of the senses.”
Since its founding, Artists & Fleas has brought thousands of emerging designers, vintage collectors, and artisanal product together under one roof, creating a community around art, fashion and discovery. Now, 15 years later, the marketplace has landed at 568 Broadway - on Soho’s most commercial thoroughfare – inviting you to “shop extraordinary” amongst the land of chain stores and luxury. Think of it as a modern-day treasure hunt, so if you like shopping and surprises, Artists & Fleas is the place for you.

Fox 5 NY: Multi-merchant market Artists & Fleas opens in Soho
The cost of doing business in New York City is forcing even big-name retailers to close up shop. But a local market is bucking that trend, opening its third location on Friday, May 12. The irony of the new Artists & Fleas is that it is moving into a space that Armani Exchange left behind.
Artists & Fleas, meanwhile, is opening a new, 5,000 square-foot market in Soho on Friday at the prime retail intersection of Prince Street and Broadway in Soho, the former home of an Armani Exchange. Co-founders Ronen Glimer and Amy Abrams say artisan markets are thriving because shoppers are hungry for unique goods, not to mention connection. The Wall Street Journal May 9, 2017
