From a young age, I wanted to replicate the characters in my favorite cartoons, comic books and video games. My mother was a technical illustrator and was able to show me how to create anything I wanted. I grew up doing school t-shirt design contests and making my own comic books. I went to the Rhode Island School of Design where I majored in painting and film, and after graduation, I took up residency at the Tannery Arts Center in Santa Cruz, California. I moved to New York in 2012 and began selling my work in Union Square and Central Park.
I connected with Artists & Fleas after seeing a subway ad in 2013. My year at Artists & Fleas helped me clarify my artistic and entrepreneurial vision and helped me to arrive at where I am now. I currently have a new Kickstarter campaign, Cartoon Universe Calendar and Residency, to produce a 2016 calendar of my work as well a year-long studio residency to create my largest painting yet. As I launch this project, I am envisioning the best possible outlet for my work and trying to create a space and avenue for my greatest potential. Please have a look and share it with others who might be interested and check out my store.
