David Schell is a life-long artist - a painter, political cartoonist and satirist. Like most working artists, he is the consummate observer. A few weeks ago, he brought his graphic design sense and sensibility in the form of Mr. Drinkwater Cartoons to the market in Williamsburg. Fast forward 1 week and voila, his 2 day stint selling and sketching has turned into a limited-edition t-shirt based on local characters shopping the flea (see photo). David gets his inspiration from the every day. A woman that he sees biking down Leonard Street on a regular basis. A simple silhouette of a Brooklyn walk up and one of our own vendors doing her things with a customer. It's the kind of stuff that makes shirts and totes to make you smile. It’s just enough of a warm fuzzy without being too saccharine. Can’t wait to see where his next inspiration will strike next? See him this weekend in Williamsburg.
