To our Artists & Fleas family,

Effective immediately, all Artists & Fleas (New York and Los Angeles) market locations are suspended as a precautionary step to address the current public health crisis and to help minimize social gatherings based on guidance from health experts and government officials towards fighting COVID-19 in our cities.

All NYC Markets—Chelsea Market, Soho, and Williamsburg—and events are closed or postponed.  All LA Markets and events are closed or postponed. The DC Market opening is postponed.

We are thinking about you during this scary, stressful, confusing, uncomfortable, ______ (fill in the blank) time. We exist to create community, foster creativity and enable meaningful connections and we will continue to do that during this difficult time.

Social Distancing is critical right now but we are reframing our thinking and calling it “physical distancing.” We don’t need the lack of physical proximity to alienate and isolate us from each other and we encourage the use of technology to stay social, to stay connected, to share and discover ways we can help one another virtually. If anything, maybe now is the time for those tools and apps that served to distract us or allowed us to procrastinate to be ways to engage in ways more meaningful and more necessary than previously thought.

We recognize that closing the markets—a place where we all depend on not only to make a living but to stimulate us and connect us to each other and to ourselves—is going to take a financial toll on each and every one of us. Like you, we are monitoring the situation daily and trying to understand the best ways we can be supportive during this period and to gain clarity on when we are able to reopen.

We’ll be back. We’ll be ready. We look forward to welcoming everyone with open arms when the time is right and conditions are safe for all, and we’ll be in touch as soon as we have further information about reopening based on guidance from health officials and our government representatives.

If you are a small business owner or A&F merchant, we want to hear from you what’s been working for you during this hard time. We’d love to help in any way we can. Send us an email or DM us on Instagram with your thoughts.

Thinking of you all and sending you healthy vibes and hope.

Amy & Ronen
