Paste
Curious about the amazing people behind the booths?
Meet Jason, founder of Paste, to get a glimpse into their world and discover a little more about the magic behind the brand.
Established in 2004, Paste is a graphic line of t-shirts and art prints by artist Jason Laurits. Still today, the t-shirts are screenprinted locally in Brooklyn, NY.
How did your business get started?
I taught myself how to silkscreen to make posters for my band’s shows. While in London for a summer, I began printing on t-shirts and selling them at the local markets. Paste took off from there.
How do you make your products?
Everything is hand-silkscreened in Brooklyn, NY.
What inspires your craft?
In a world where things are perfectly photoshopped, I like to keep my work unpolished, maybe unrefined. It’s kitsch, camp, and keeps the edge.
What is your favorite place in Chelsea?
The Los Tacos No. 1 breakfast burrito stand at 10:30AM.
