FAQs Shopper and Visitor Info
- Do I have to pay an entry fee to shop?
Nope! Artists & Fleas is free and open to the public at all market locations.
- What types of payment do the merchants accept?
Most merchants accept credit cards, cash, Venmo, ApplePay, PayPal QR Codes and other methods of payment that are easy and touch-free. Artists & Fleas does not dictate the types of payment individual merchants accept but encourages contactless payment as much as possible.
- What’s the average price point for products sold at Artists & Fleas?
Our merchants carry a variety of merchandise in a fairly wide price range, typically from $10-$500. Price ranges vary by business and merchandise type.
- Is there parking available?
Most Artists & Fleas Market locations are in areas where street parking is available, though they are high-traffic areas. Parking proximity to the markets varies by neighborhood – we suggest taking public transportation whenever possible!
- Is the market wheelchair and stroller accessible?
Yes, all our market locations are accessible with aisles large enough to accommodate wheelchairs, strollers, or other mobility vehicles. In some cases, a market manager may need to assist with implementing our handicap ramps. In the event that a handicap ramp is needed, please call the market location you’ll be visiting and we’ll be ready for you!
- Can I bring my dog?
Furry friends are welcome in our standalone marketplaces, including Williamsburg and Venice, provided they are leashed and certified service animals. In the event our locations are integrated within larger retail environments, such as Chelsea Market, we cannot accommodate dogs.
- Will I be able to find my favorite merchants time and time again?
Some merchants sell with us on a longer-term basis, while others cycle through at various intervals. Keep tabs on your favorites by following their social channels to see where they’ll be next!
- I got this awesome item, but now I want to buy more of it! Can I find it online?
We recommend that you reach out directly to the merchant you purchased the item from! If you’re having trouble locating their website or contact information, please email info@artistsandlfeas.com and we’ll help you out.
- Can I return an item I bought in-store?
Since all merchants who sell with us operate their sales independently, Artists & Fleas does not facilitate or field return requests. Please contact the maker you purchased from in the event that you would like a refund.
- Do you sell food at your markets?
Many of our markets feature food and beverage merchants from time to time, though offerings vary by week. Each location is surrounded by some of the most innovative and delicious culinary spots – whether it’s near Chelsea Market or in Williamsburg in NYC, or throughout the Venice neighborhoods.
- Do you have public bathrooms?
While our marketplaces generally don’t have public restrooms available, Market Managers are on hand to assist in the event of an emergency. Public amenities are available nearby at Chelsea Market, and a restroom is available on-site at our Venice location.
- Are there fitting rooms available?
Fitting room availability varies from location to location.
- Do your marketplaces have climate control?
All of our indoor marketplaces have both heating and air conditioning for whatever temperatures the weather brings. We encourage you to check the weather forecast when planning a visit to our Venice market.
- How can I join the Artists & Fleas merchant community?
Visit our online application and fill it out today! We accept applications on a rolling basis.
- Is there additional information regarding health and safety protocols due to the COVID-19 pandemic?
We continue to consult with local authorities and business groups including our host partners to ensure full compliance with current health and government guidelines. Any individual who is sick or is not feeling well is requested to not enter the marketplace. Access is restricted to anyone who may have recently been exposed to the COVID-19 virus and some of our marketplaces require self-certification by merchants and their employees upon entry. For additional information and up-to-date guidance, please visit your state government website.
