15 Years of Creativity

Can you believe it’s been 15 years since we first opened our doors in Williamsburg?

In 2003, we had a simple idea: to create a place for creative people to show and sell, a place where people would come, hang out, and shop in Williamsburg (before it was the shopping mecca it’s become). 15 years later, we’ve accomplished that and so much more thanks to our communities in New York, LA and around the world.

This month, we’re kicking off the celebration with an event in Williamsburg on Saturday, October 5 from 5-7PM and, for our west coast friends, with a very special market in Venice that same day. We’ll toast the creativity of the makers & shoppers (YOU!) that are the spirit of Artists & Fleas, and we hope to see you there.

At a moment like this, we can’t resist the opportunity to look back on the wild and amazing ride that led us here (See more on Our Story). This journey, which started simply from the idea to create something, build a business, and put it out there, is the same journey that thousands of Artists & Fleas creators have also embarked upon. That is really the magic of the market. And that is the true spirit of this moment. And we are just getting started…

Flash forward to today and we’re proud to have 4 marketplaces on both coasts that serve as  platforms where makers can share their creations and shoppers can find something extraordinary. Artists & Fleas is—and will always be—a place to discover and be discovered. 

We’re excited to look ahead to the next 15 years and beyond. To create more opportunities for people to connect and discover IRL. To cultivate the next generation of makers. To be a place for experimentation. To create ecosystems where local communities can thrive and far flung visitors can shop. To be a place where in-person interactions can lead to thoughtful purchases that nurture and support creatives everywhere. And we’re looking forward to having a lot of fun along the way!

And if you haven’t sold with us in awhile, there’s no time like the present. Our teams are currently accepting applications for our holiday markets and beyond, and we can’t wait to see you again.
